  1. Day 1
    Arrive in Christchurch

    Arrive in Christchurch and transfer to your hotel. Explore the Botanic Gardens or Riverside Market before meeting your group for welcome drinks and dinner.

    Overnight in Christchurch.

  2. Day 2
    Christchurch → Arthur’s Pass → Franz Josef

    Ride the TranzAlpine to Arthur’s Pass, then continue by coach via Hokitika to Franz Josef. Enjoy rainforest and coastal views. Optional glacier flight.

    Overnight in Franz Josef.

  3. Day 3
    Franz Josef → Queenstown

    Travel from Franz Josef through Haast Pass, passing waterfalls and lake scenery, before arriving in Queenstown. Evening free to explore.

    Overnight in Queenstown.

  4. Day 4
    Queenstown Free Day & Walter Peak Dinner

    Free day in Queenstown with optional activities. Cruise on the TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak for a gourmet dinner, then return by steamship.

  5. Day 5
    Queenstown → Arrowtown → Te Anau

    Visit historic Arrowtown, then travel south to Te Anau. Enjoy free time by the lake or join an optional glowworm cave tour.

  6. Day 6
    Te Anau → Milford Sound → Te Anau

    Drive the Milford Road and cruise Milford Sound past cliffs and waterfalls. Lunch onboard. Return to Te Anau for a relaxed evening.

  7. Day 7
    Te Anau → Dunedin

    Travel east from Fiordland to Dunedin, known for its Scottish heritage. Enjoy a city sights tour before visiting Larnach Castle for a guided tour, garden stroll, and elegant High Tea. Return to Dunedin for a relaxed evening.

  8. Day 8
    Dunedin → Mount Cook

    Travel via Oamaru and the Waitaki Valley to Aoraki/Mount Cook. Enjoy dramatic alpine landscapes and an evening in the national park.

  9. Day 9
    Mount Cook → Lake Tekapo → Christchurch

    Morning free or optional scenic flight. Continue to Lake Tekapo, then onward to Christchurch for a city tour and farewell dinner.

    Depart Christchurch

    Free time before your transfer to the airport for departure, marking the end of your South Island journey.
